Indian Captain was found Breached level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct |
Mumbai: Indian Cricket team captain Virat Kohli landed himself in trouble as he breached the level 1 of ICC Code of Conduct just after India defeated Bangladesh by 28 runs at Edgbaston.
During the 12th over, Shami appealed for a Leg Before Wicket against Soumya Sarkar.
The on-field umpire Marias Erasmus denied the appeal of the fast bowler.
But the Skipper Kohli went for a DRS review.
The review clearly showed that the ball has hit the bat first and then to the pads and was given not out by the Third Umpire.
Meanwhile, India also lost the only Review.
Kohli went to the Umpire and argued about the decision made by the Third Umpire as he thought the ball has hit to the pads first and then to the bat and the Review should be retained by the Indian team.
Earlier, Kohli was engaged in an argument with the on-field Umpire during the Afghanistan match, following which he was fined 25 percent of his match fees for excessive appealing.
One demerit point has been taken into the disciplinary records account of Kohli. Kohli how has two demerit points against him as one he got against the test match against South Africa on January 15, 2018.
Here's how disciplinary suspension works: If a player reaches four demerit points in a 24 months period, those are converted into suspension points. Two of such points equate to a ban from One Test or Two ODIs/T20s whichever comes first.
